Please evaluate and grade this coin. I got it in a job lot at the weekend and it arrived this morning.
It's a Swedish 50 Ore 1899, reigning monarch was Oscar II as I found out from Krause's identification pages at the front of the book. I think this coin is quite rare? - all I could find on ebay of this coin were a couple of examples in G and VG (at best) which were at set prices from an established seller at around £10- £15.

I think it's in good shape, esp for it's age - VF?
What do you think?

£7.99 (inc. postage) with a lower grade 1876 25 Ore, an 1891 2 Ore and a few others.. one of which wasn't even
Scandinavian but what they heck (sic)
It appears the late 19th century Scandinavian coins are often quite rare...
Are you quoting from Krause?

NumisMattyUk When grading Silver of this vintage you need to look for damage - the surfaces here are clearly corroded (pitted) and there are some recent non-toned scratches in the King's monogram. In addition there are a couple gouges. The Krause catalogs are based on the wear visible on a "key design element" specifically the crown above the Monogram on this series. That crown shows heavy central wear and the upper band is not distinct. A VF should retain 75% of the detail in the crown. I don't see that in this case. Therefore, I would not grade the coin above Fine and I would mention the damaged surfaces.
