Let me know the best way to move this piece.
It is a gold coin mounted in a custom made gold bezel surrounded by diamonds and topped with Ruby.
Did have this appraised (have letter from jeweler), replacement cost is above $5000.
I know this is insured value of it was to be made again, but with the quality of the work, the diamonds and ruby, this piece is still worth some serious value.
I could remove the coin and scrap out the gold, diamonds and Ruby. I felt that this piece was too nice and did not want to destroy it just for financial gains. I am trying to find a good place to sell or trade. Can someone let me know what would be the best path forward.
Here are some pictures.

I do not think there is any way to remove the coin without damaging it.

Is the lower right retaining prong missing? Hallmarks?

Unfortunately, in the used jewelry market, the seller cannot get much of a premium for the quality of the work.

My LCS is a big purchaser of jewelry and they give no premium-they strictly pay for the gold/ silver and give no credit for the gems.

But it wouldn't hurt to go around and ask, or try Kijiji.
Rest in Peace

The coin will be pronged. Leave as is. Looks nice and a great gift.

If you want to sell it, ebay would probably be the best place. We have a sell/trade forum this on this site, but think you need a few more posts for that.

I hate to sell this to local metal dealer for scrap, but I have no use for it. Will pull coin and scrap the rest. Thanks for advice.

If I were you I would take several good pictures of it in it's current state with the coin in it.

If you you are set on pulling out the coin do so as gently as possible and try not to damage to retaining tabs on the back.

Then I would put it up on ebay without the coin in it but show people that another one could be installed should the buyer decide to do so. That way you will get more than the scrap dealer would give you.

Talk to a couple local jewelry stores that sell estate pieces about a consignment sale. Not the usual jewelry 'supermarket' at the mall but a real jeweler... it might take time to sell, but give you a higner return.

you can some money for the jewelry piece. Bend back the prongs and push the coin out. the rest should be okay, unless it is soldered on.

The jewelry is worth as much as the coin. rubies aren't cheap.
