I think that this dime fits the transitional reverse error with the 1969 reverse. If I read it correctly, the more undefined flame was the most commonly used for the 1970, but some of them got the 1969 reverse dies, which has a more defined flame (lines through).

The well defined flame is assumed to come from a 1968 proof die, but they used it in 1969 and 1970.

Yours looks like the well defined flame to me.

Rainman503 I have a friend with that same dime and he also has a 1970 s ghost nickel they want to know if they are of any value because they dont exist in any of the books they used or online

The dimes would need to be a higher grade item to have a value.
PCGS slabs Normal reverse:
MS-66 $80.00
MS-65 $ 6.00 Doesn't even cover grading fees
FS-901:
AU-53 $45.00
AU-50 $45.00 Still not covering grading fees.
