1955 D Wheat Penny Error

I found this 1955 D Wheat penny with what looks like a re-stamped "D" mint mark. Also, the "T" in "CENT" on the reverse looks like it has extra metal. Any information is much appreciated (what error it is, how the error happened, how much the coin is worth, etc). Thank you!

looks like a repunched mint mark to me but hey, I am never right. Wait for the experts to chime in

The 'T' has a die chip on that device. That is a marker for this die number. Your die chip is larger than my example on coppercoins, because your coin was struck several thousand later.

Probably not much of a premium. A normal circulated 55-D would be worth about 3-6 cents, so this is probably the same or a couple cents more.
