I could use some assist from members that know more about this than I do.
Please look at the Numista link and data because it conflicts with what I see in Kann #932
http://en.numista.com/catalogue/pieces21231.html
You may see this Numista site shows Kann 932 dated 1888 much smaller, thinner, weighs less that what is shown in Kann volume 2 page 329 dated 1904. The Numista piece shows what I think is 7.2 Mace (dollar) while Kann clearly has the symbol for "tael" in the legend.
I don't want to blunder by making a mistake in my project because I have what looks to be both physical versions but only the larger is listed in Kann.
I have a pair over 40mm and over 37 grams, but I also have a pair with seemingly identical markings at 39mm and 21 & 28 grams.
No doubt my coins are not genuine so does that mean the Numista reference is just wrong or am I missing something?
Hopefully members can steer me straight to resolve what looks to be a conflict describing this Chinese Tael coin.
To me a "Tael" should be a much heavier coin than Numista shows. And if the Numista coin was a tael then it should have the tael character on it. Or am I mixed up not really knowing as much as I should on these coins?

These kind of coins are forged by the millions by little Chinese workshops.
Never by such coins because most of the time they are not real.
Perhaps you can search this site:
https://www.NGCcoin.com/price-guide/world/
40 and 39mm are very common with these fakes/replicas.
I have a nice collection of these Chinese fakes.
Here is my fake: http://www.zeno.ru/showphoto.php?ph...&ppuser=2181

Please take a look at the coin shown and described in the Numista link. Can anyone point to a legitimate coin someplace that matches?
Would the Numista site show a coin that is not genuine? I have not been able to find a legitimate piece that matches using Kann, Bruce or Krause as my reference as well as searching auction results. The best I can find describes it as a fantasy piece. But Kann shows forgeries and fantasies but not this particular one.

Numista is sort of a WIKI for coins.

Numista members create the coin listings.

A Numista member could upload the photo of a counterfeit.

I would not rely on Numista entries to authenticate coins.

Ok I get it and thanks.
I have to presume this particular item they show is just some sort of fabrication and not a genuine coin at all.
I did not know or realize that about Numista. The listing certainly must be wrong information in what is described as Kann-932 (which it is not) and One Tael (which it is not).
So apparently not only can Numista show good information, but it can also spread false information so the reader has to be somewhat careful using them as a source.
