Price guides in general are either generic (lack detail) like the reference in the above post, or are not current. If you want a guide for ALL US paper money (large, small, fractional's, etc) then I recommend the Whitman Encyclopedia of US Paper Money by Q.David Bowers. If you want a guide for small-sized US paper money then I recommend the Standard Guide to Smaill-Size US Paper Money 10th edition by Schwartz/Lindquist. Both of these were printed years ago, but go into great detail with excellent photos of every series and type.

I will add, use these only as general guides. For current pricing I recommend using past, current auction results from Heritage, Stacks, and ebay......it doesn't cost anything but your time to research recent prices paid for US paper money.

I prefer Track & Price (subscription fee) or the Heritage Auctions archives (free). The Bank Note Reporter is a decent cross-reference, but its quotes, in my opinion, tend to run on the high side.

SteveInTampa.... I agree

I cant express enough how great of a must have book this really is. It's around $30 but it is an awesome book to own if you're really into paper money. It's call The comprehensive guide to US Paper Money By Hessler and Chambliss. Gotta Get It ASAP!
