While I was doing my research on GSA CC Morgan dollar Prices I noticed that there was a difference in pricing on graded ones.
By this I mean some price guides showed Graded GSA Dollars being worth more than ones of the same grade that aren't from the GSA hoard, while others don't separate the prices.

Are the GSA Coins more desirable? If so why? Aren't there more of those than Non GSA's?

Sorry if this is a dumb question.

If the GSA Morgans are not in their original GSA holder then there should not be a premium. i.e. "GSA" pedigree called out on the TPG slab label. GSA Morgans in their original GSA holders do carry a premium that varies by date and collector's desires.

It's like so many coins; it depends upon how they are labeled.

Why is an Early Release ASE worth more than other ASE's?
Why is a coin once owned by [famous name] worth more than a regular coin?

Collectors think it's important.
Wait until they try to cash in on that "label" and find dealers won't pay any premium.
(But watch what happens when that dealer resells the coin.)

All other things being equal an MS-63 is still MS-63 no matter how labeled.

The gsa sales were a seminal event in Morgan dollar history which attracted a new collector base and created the modern Morgan dollar market. It was historic and has come to be cherished by morgan enthusiasts. Plus, a great deal of gsa coins were cracked our before the community realized their significance so today gsa holdered coins enjoy a premium that will most likely only gain in time. Get em while you can, if you can

I agree with everyone's comments above.

We have choice today unlike 20 years ago when it comes to selling our collection. With ebay, Great Collection auction, and other coin community site, we don't have to sell it to a local coin shop. We can get top dollars from large pool of buyers and not be forced to accept the low offers from LCS.
