ok guys just dug this up a few hours ago, was about 3 inches down.Hit it with water and patted it dry, no clue what is wrong with it.Both sides look like this.

if it was buried, what you are seeing is most likely environmental damage.

Environmental damage. All depends on the soil it's found in.
