I'm looking for a dump bank with a free coin sorter. Which banks are more likely to have them? I haven't seen one yet. Thanks

Some banks have them in the back... You might need an account with them though

That site doesn't seem like it has been updated for the last 5 years. The last update for my state was in 2002. And I know 2 of my banks offer free counting and they are not listed.

I did not claim it to be a complete and updated list.

I always wonder who and why anyone would spend the time making such a list. As already noted it is outdated. For example a bank listed by me, suposed to be free, now has a 10% fee for any coins brought in over $100. Then of course there are banks that have been recently bought by other banks such as the entire LaSalle Banking system and now all new rules and proceedures. So again, why would anybody waste time making such a list and it becomes useless after only a short period of time. I guess the idea was good at the time.

I am in a fairly small town and the area banks all have one or two branches with coin counters. I would simply call a local branch and explain that you want to open an account with a bank that has counters in at least some of their branches. They will tell if they do and what branches have them. Them, open an account and use it. They will not charge an active customer a fee.

If you have enough banks to get picky and are searching halves you might ask how much their half 'bucket' holds. I have one bank whos half bucket only holds $200 and then they have to, stop, take it out, empty it, and put it back in. It takes about 20 minutes for them to count 2 boxes of halves.
I've another bank that has a machine that the halves drop into a bag. They can do 2 boxes of halves in about 5 minutes.

If you can be picky - it might be worth your while to ask.
