Not sure whats up with this one. Rim looks a little like a Cud. Kind of looks like a little lamination or could be the dreaded rot. Any opinions. Thank you for your input.

definitely a Cud with a little zinc rot around the edges. Still a keeper

Looks like a plating split to me.

It is a Cud. Notice how it is over the rim. The die was missing there and the rim didn't get formed there. The reverse also has a weakness like you will see opposite the Cud.

Nice find Earl. It is in a common area for that year. Keep an eye out for the pre-cud die cracks that match your Cud.That would make a cool progression set.

John1- I found one like that (with the pre-cud crack) a couple months ago and didn't think much about it at the time. I am hoping I put it in my "Look at again jar".

I decided to look into this one...finally. Turns out it is a new one and listed as CU-1c-1983-50.
