A 1989-Jefferson nickel...would this be considered a broadstrike?...I would say off centered but no design is missing

Would like to see the edge of the coin if possible. Between the area of United States.

Maybe a photo illusion but the coin or strike seems to be out of round and extend past the collar in that region. Thanks, Doug.

edit: wondering if its just part of the misalignment strike or partial collar.

Interesting, it looks like the misaligned die broke the collar..

Just a guess as the only broken collar coins I've had were all Dimes..

I see lines on the edge that look like reeds. Is that at all possible?

I sent Mike Diamond a message on this one. It is always nice to have the correct term for this. First time I've seen this.

As others have said, this 1989-P nickel was struck within a broken collar. The upper margin of the collar's working face broke off, accounting for about 90 arc degrees.

I appreciate all of the input and opinions...but again..I haven't seen a broken collar example similar to this nickel...I think it might be worth sending out to be certified.

This is one of the more common collar Cuds available in the marketplace (I've owned several). They usually sell for about $35 on ebay.
