There could be. I recommend Xylene and a brush to clean it up.

Goodness, you haven't heard one of my Xylene promotions?
I can't tell anything because your mint mark is so clogged. I recommend getting some Xylene down at Home Depot in the paint department. It's right next to the Acetone. Unfortunately it only comes in the big cans.
Also get yourself a nice soft stippling brush. You need to get into those tiny little crevaces before you can see anything. It's a RPM searcher's best friend. I think Tommy Hilfiger has a nice one.
Now dip the coin in the Xylene and do very small circles on the coin. You don't want to brush across the coin, but little circles without the brush points coming off the coin will get those little crevaces clean.
Make sure your doing this outside or in a well ventilated room.
Blow on the coin to dry it.
Enjoy!
Caveat: Only do this on circulated lincolns that aren't worth over $1. I'm sure someone will come along and say 'Don't clean coins!', but by looking at the age and quality of your cent, you're fine with the procedure I gave you.

Don't clean it, xylene or otherwise unless you want to kill any collector value. It may be worth it to leave it alone. If it is the S/S etc...it will be worth more as an XF than it would be as an XF cleaned....Just my Two Cents:-)

It is an RPM, but it's not tripled. Not sure which one without closer examination.

The xylene is just going to get that dirt and stuff off, it won't change the surface. It's very similar in effect to Acetone, but xylene won't discolor lincoln cents like acetone can.
RPMs are relatively worthless if you can't see them from all that dirt.
Do a search on it in these forums for more information. It's even coppercoins approved!

Just be careful with Xylene...its health hazards are worse than acetone.

There we go! Looks like 1940S-1MM-001, but enough differences that I can't say for sure.

Im not sure it is... On Coppercoins.com in the picture of the 1mm-001 the curve on the bottom S comes almost up to touch the top serif (i think thats the word). On mine it doesn't
