Hello Everyone! About 2 months ago I picked up my first Edward VII 25 cent which consensus said was an F12. I just bought a 1904. It looks better than F12 to me, but I have no idea how much better. Please let me know how you would grade it. Thanks in advance.

I agree, somewhere between a high Fine and a lower end VF.

Looks better than F12 to me. Maybe closer to VF20.
Too much detail in Crown and leaves on reverse to be much lower.

I'm at a borderline VF20 as well.

F15
Oh so close to VF but there is just a little too much wear on the moustache and top of the ear, as well as on the second A of CANADA , the knot in the bow and the leaves in general.
"Dipping" is not considered cleaning...

Thank you everyone, especially DMB for explaining your reasoning. I'll record it as F15+ in my files.

The amount of detail barely left in the lower part of the crown makes me agree with that F-12 to VF -20
Works out to be F15/F15+/F18 whatever you prefer
I love this darker antique toning look on circulated silver.

The reverse looks VF, but the obverse looks more like an F-15. Unfortunately grading companies give precedence to the obverse when grading.
