They're being sold for 0.15 Euro, while you can get the geunine item from 0.10...

And besides, aren't they some of the most common notes in the world, especially the type with two block numbers and no serial?

What's the point of producing such fakes?

Well, if you can produce them for .01 and sell them for .15, you have a .14 profit per note!
I can only assume that it is worth someone's while, although most would not bother.

Like Oriole said, profit. 1500% profit, with virtually no risk. It's not a valid Chinese currency anymore, so they won't care, and who is going to initiate a return for fifteen cents?

It's probably due to Chinese culture that these are being produced.

People want to make money and make the "Chinese dream", so producing something that someone will buy is part of that. Most coins and more expensive banknotes are already faked, but they put buyers off and a lot of people know the risks of parting with a lot of money. Make it cheap and wham, people lower their guard and buy your stuff.

Indeed, the fact that this series was withdrawn from circulation in 2007 has probably been a factor in the emergence of these fakes. Thanks for pointing that out.

Analogus to coins or notes no longer in circulation in other countries; souvenir value can be considered instead.
