EF details
not natural toning, cleaned and retoned
surfaces will not warrant a righteous slab, I would not spend the money

I kinda like the look and I'm not sure this one has been artificially toned. Strike looks about average and EF seems an appropriate grade.

Maybe throw it into a 10-coin Economy submission at ANACS if you must have it certified; otherwise, I wouldn't spend the money. Better perhaps to enjoy the coin in the raw!

Not worth it. Toning is not original. Don't be discouraged. Sounds like you are itching to slab something. Hang out on the forum for a while. You will learn a lot. Solid advice is given here. Sometimes the truth sounds harsh, but taken as good advice, it is very helpful.

Telui,

I don't know your level knowledge w/r/t toning so I'd like to post a Bust 1/2 example that has 'verified' natural toning worthy of a slab:

https://coins.www.collectors-societ...spx?sc=23008

Notice on this 1832 Bust half the 'gradual' variations in color when transitioning from anyplace across the coin.

Your 1827 Bust 1/2, on the other hand, has spotty patches of different color shades with abrupt and well defined edges.

This 1832 is the nicest toned Bust half I've run across in quite some time.

fyi
