Obviously things are going to get a little fuzzy, so some general guidelines that the community may vote to modify as we see fit:
- Coins without dates or with non-Gregorian dates are allowed, but should be placed according to when they were made in an absolute sense; e.g. an Arabic coin with a date 1277 AH goes in the 19th century, not the 13th.
- For coins that straddle centuries, post them to either the century where they were first produced, or the ones that you feel they best represent. E.g. a
LMC would best fit the 20th cwntury, even though they were also made in the 21st century for 8 years. Likewise, the Euro was introduced in 1998, but is generally seen as a 21st century series.
- If the coin was made over a very long time period, don't post the same coin 6 times!
- Banknotes are allowed!
- Think outside the box! Instead of posting 100 Morgans for the 19th century, try to find some more obscure Arabic, Chinese, or African coins from that century.
Let's get started with the 21st century
