There aren't a lot of
VAM listing for the 1879 P's. And what are there, there aren't any pictures for.
This coin has the remains of doubling in the olive leaves as listed for the
VAM 23. However it has vertical die gouges in the ear as discribed in the
VAM 44. It also has die gouges in the hair beneath the phyrigan cap. The reverse also has the I and G in "IN GOD WE TRUST" filled in. Any ideas on what variety this could be?
