I am not sure how the site works.

I do know at a certain point it might be cheaper to
use the Flat Rate priority boxes. I think the small
Flat rate box is less the $7.00 and fits quite a lot
of coins into it. And comes with $50.00 insurance.

I just need to fit 12 coins in 2x2s inside and with the cheapest price.

13 ounces and under can be sent by First Class Mail small package service. Greater than 13 ounces needs to go by Priority Mail. Priority Mail I believe now comes with automatic DC and 50$ in insurance.

I use a postage provider (stamps.com) and calculate and print my shipping labels at home. A lot of ebay sellers print their labels at home using the optional ebay shipping tool.

I believe you can print shipping labels for Priority Mail from the USPS website but you cannot for 1st Class small packages. You probably have to take that to the post office. Once you factor in DC and insurance you might as well use the Priority Mail Small Flat Rate Box.

You just have to play around on the USPS website to figure things out. It is not "user friendly" in my opinion. Good luck!

(By the way ... if you ever file a USPS insurance claim be prepared for the ultimate runaround including hoop jumping!)

If you wrap the 2x2's together and use a padded bubble mailer, the total weight will probably be less than 8 oz. You can mail that parcel first class for $3.40, which includes tracking, but no insurance. Agree that the USPS site is not very easy to navigate.

First Class package @6oz= $3.02
Small Flat Rate Box= $6.80

The only rates I saw even close to $20 was Priority Mail Express 1 Day service at $22.95. You cannot use the Click-N-Ship feature with First Class postage, that is retail rate.

Yeah, they make the more expensive choices show up first, so you have to navigate a bit further to find the cheaper options. I think it's on the lower right side of the page and it says, "other options," or something like that. 6oz w/tracking shouldn't be more than 3 or 4 bucks.

Thanks for the quick responses, you all are great!
The website is so hard to navigate, easier to go to the post office, but then again, I will have to stand in line for an hour just to get a price...

I agree with Zurie. This is the way I would do it unless coins had value of over a $100. Then I would get insurance.

Their website is so bad I only use it to track. I prefer to go to post office and that's a 50 mile round trip and a wait in line, but still easier and less frustrating than their website!
