Here's the next coin to try to identify and answer/ask questions about: No. 22. Remember, if you have just correctly identified a die pair, you must wait 24 hrs (down from 48) before guessing the next one. However, for other questions anyone can come in at any time. So have fun and don't be afraid you might guess wrong! Even wrong guesses are sometimes helpful.

No. 23. We'll start with the reverse. There are three areas where this coin is unusual. Can you name them?

JHax "I don't remember your being involved in the previous thread"
No was not involved, too busy with non coin related things for that period of time.
And thanks, fourmack.

1. Yes. 2. Probably No. I'll have a look at the coin. 3. Or maybe a tiny clip.
So there's still one to get. And any guesses about which die it is?

Yes, you're right--it is E23b. I would say the overpolishing is in Leaf 2 more than it is in Vine 2. Vine 12 is also weak, but perhaps that is due to the clip rather than a clog. Here's the obverse. What's that little shiny area between GRATIA and REGINA? And the die pair is...

Good job, Don. It is a little collapse. Finally, (fourmack or anyone): How was the reverse identified (since it didn't have any die cracks)?

That's a really nice 213. I'm still looking for that variety. There is something above leaf 6 also. Is that another planchet flaw?

Yes, apparently a planchet flaw. There's one more thing. See the line to the G of GRATIA? Look up in the catalog and see what it says...

There is no die crack to the G of GRATIA listed in the catalog. Anyone want to take a guess about what that mark is at the G?
