Front is good/ Rear is worn. I am fairly new to coins but saw this and loved it. Anyone have any thoughts on what the grading would be? Edited by mring 04/29/2016 6:53 pm

Mring. to CCF. Curious no replies. The date on the coin is interesting. The over all obverse and reverse does not look right. Lets see what more knowledgable CCF members say.

Hardly an expert on counterfeit gold, but looks basically G/VG details (scratched).

Thanks for a reply Coinfrog; so based on your reply are you indicating it is a fake? If so, what are the tells? I did some research before purchasing and took comparison pictures so if it is fake I obviously missed something and what like to learn what.
The weight is 4.15 grams which I attributed to the wear; originals being 4.18.

I do not know much about counterfeits, but nothing stands out to me indicating it is fake. As for what I would grade it: VG-8 Details.

looks like a heavily circulated gold coin that may be ex-jewelry as it looks polished especially the obverse. The obverse has taken a few hits on the date, remember gold is soft so hits are more pronounced. I'd grade this VG-details Here's the PCGS CoinFacts with more information http://www.PCGScoinfacts.com/Coin/Detail/7747

Appears genuine and heavily worn/damaged. Detail might make VG and even though it's a better date it would be worth melt to me in that condition.

Looks real and the weight suggests it's made of gold even if counterfeit. Significantly damaged and the obverse rim distortion is likely due to mounting in jewelry, perhaps a ring. The heavy obverse wear, cleaning, and scratches are consistent with such use. I agree with BH1964: this coin is basically a melt-value piece.
