My dump bank just took their coin counter out. So now other than Ike's I'm pretty much done coin roll hunting. I'm off to find another coin counter.

Open an account with $50 in it somewhere that has a machine. They are all over the place. Even if your bank doesn't have one, maybe another branch of the same Bank does a few miles away? My bank has them but only at certain branches.

PNC was my bank for the last 5 years. They are taking all the coin counters out. I've gone to 4 other banks so far and they don't have them. I'll keep searching.

I roll everything. Yes. Everything. Good news is that I find things I missed earlier during round 2.

Zero local banks in my area have coin counters, so I have no choice but to re-roll.

Just one counter in a branch, here. When it breaks, I'll bet that's the end of it.

I bank with Bank of America. I search cents at a rate of a box per week (+/-) and re-roll as I search. They provide me with wrappers when I ask for them. I'm rarely even asked to prove that I have an account at any of the branches.

Fortunately where I live I know of at least several places with machines, so I'm a dumper, though occasionally I might re-roll a box to sneak in a few foreign coins. Of the PNCs in my region within 20 minutes, two had a counting machine last time I checked, so we'll see if indeed it is a company-wide policy. As they say, time is money and since the tellers most of the time open up and re-wrap the rolls using rubber bands (usually in groups of 10), I'd rather have them change bags at the machines than re-roll. It also means that the coins go back "into the wild".

I re-rolled at first since my BoA branch lacks a counter, but the manager told me a couple months ago that they could send the coins back to be counted, so now every time I get a box they give me one of those thick plastic bags that I fill, seal and bring back, then the money shows up in my account a few days later.

I like my credit union, good folks. They have the counter and they give me all the coins that don't go through. I got Canadian, UK ect. free
And they know me by name and don't hassel me about change.

Click,
I personally use my Credit Union for my dump bank because they have a machine. I know someone that had/has an account at BofA and was able to return coins in bags. All he did was write the denomination, amount, and account number on the bags and just take them in. Don't know if he is still doing it. Haven't talked to him in over a year. Hope this helps. Good luck to you.

I hoist a sack over the counter, usually $500 in dimes or halves. Directly to the vault teller. Never counted. Get cash immediately.
