We would need better pictures to be more exact but I'm guessing F12. Looks like it's got streaks but I don't think it's cleaned

It took me a little while to get good enough photos to get an accurate grade. There is a section of the forum that deals with coin photography that might help you. The pictures that some collectors get are absolutely amazing but they have both the equipment and the desire to get perfect photos.

I'm embarrassed to admit it but I take my photos with a smartphone and a loupe. I shoot mostly 5 cent pieces so I use an 8x loupe for that. For larger coins, I use smaller or no magnification. Take your pictures at a 90 degree angle to the coin with the coin in the proper orientation.

I've had a hard time using CCF's cropping feature so I've downloaded Picasa 3. It's a free program that makes it very easy to crop your photos.

If your goal is to take perfect shot like some of the members here can accomplish, this is not a good method. If you want decent photos and you don't have the equipment then I suggest to try my method.

Sounds good AG, I will look for the link to the picture taking, it most definitely is not my passion, but coin collecting is :) and the 5 cent piece is VF20 in a prefix of ZK, so it is an older holder! If anyone is going to be at the Mississauga coin show Please let me know and I'll bring some coins with me so you can see in person :)

Everyone of the non-pros here should only use Picasa..

I would be lost without it..........

Lol I apologize, I should have been more clear. I meant more "straight on" photos. Right from the top of the coin. And if possible, rotate them. If not, it's not a big deal. I do a lot of CCF browsing on a tablet so I can rotate the tablet. But for others who are just on their computers, they might find it tougher

VF20. Too much meat left for Fine or Fine-15.
