I believe this coin can be graded as a vf. However it does have slight rim damage. How much will that damage affect the grade of this coin?

I agree with F15
Too much wear in the braid below the ear, the cheek, the eyebrow and the reverse crown and leaves for VF.
Damage does not affect the numerical grade.
Damage can earn for a coin a "details" grade which would significantly lower the value.
IMO the rim damage on your coin is not excessive for an F15 coin and shouldn't have an effect on the value.
"Dipping" is not considered cleaning...

Only an F15, close to VF but not quite.
