The date has had its share of strikes but I think it's a doubled die. Thoughts?

What are you seeing as hub doubled? The 44 has an issue with master die doubling.

I was wondering if the second 4 width and indentation as well as the width of the lower leg of the 9 had an indication of doubling?

Note the bump just above the indentation? That is probably causing the alteration of the last 4 upright. (Looks like the hit left a NW damaged direction)

Thanks coop, always appreciate your input! Thx.
A separate question for you. I have several rolls of 44's and I was using variety vista as a visual guide from the images. On the 004 and 005 what exactly would I look at to make out a doubled die? http://varietyvista.com/01a%20LC%20...201944-D.htm

Have you noted the different locations for the mint marks on these DDO's. That is my first clue to ID'n these. With out the mint marks, it is a lot harder. You have to go on the differences between the hubbing of the dies in question.
But the arrows you are pointing to are all areas where the normal coin was damaged and now looks like the is something there when there really isn't. (the coin looks normal from what I can see, just damaged)
