What am I thinking? I am thinking what in the world was someone thinking when they scratched that beautiful large diameter Capped Bust quarter.....They totally ruined what would be a very nice example.

looks like a lot of nice die cracks on that reverse

Did this one sit in an envelope to develop the color?

Just so you know, this is a late die state of the B-1 variety, whick was often weakly struck on the obverse and the eagle's head.

That is an artifact of the lighting. The coin is a nice even grey.

F+ detail with no problems other than the big X. One to put in the album reverse up.

Finding an uncleaned Capped Bust quarter is a rare event. Seeing one with a scratch like that is heart wrenching.
