While on a trip last week I happened into my favorite antique mall in Ohio. In it I found a Dansco 7170 album for Indian Head cents. It looked nearly new and in excellent shape. Upon opening it I found it also contained 19 Indian Head cents. Dates are:

1889
1890
1891
1892
1893
1895
1896
1897
1898
1899
1900-1908

Price... $14.00 but with 15% discount it was only $11.90

Thoughts on how I did?

Do you have pictures? You can pick these common dates up for ~ $1.00/each. Considering you got 19 for $12 I would say you are up $7!

Depending on the grade of each coin your profit could be better. Let's say they are all VF-EF then I would say you did quite well. If they are all G/VG then you still did pretty well.

No Pics, didn't really plan to. They are all Good to Fine condition. The cost of the album new is around $20 so I thought I did ok with that alone.

It's hard to go wrong at the price unless they were made in China. I have not seen any Chinese counterfeit common date Indian cents, but that does not mean they aren't out there. The Chinese have made the key dates including the 1864-L, the 1877 and the 1909-S.

Great score!
What was the name of the antique mall? There is one near me that is open 7 days a week but never thought to go in there and look for coins. I just may have to now.

The antique mall is the Heart of Ohio Antique Mall in Springfield Ohio. It's LARGE. I mean really LARGE. 1,400 vendors and you'll need more than a day to go through it all thoroughly.
