Time for some silver. This one hasn't been slabbed, but has been looked at by an ANACS grader at a St Louis show.

I'll go with ms65, shot 66 from what I can make out in the pictures.

I'll agree there is a potential for MS-65 here. The strike is good and there are few if any visible marks or hairlines. From the photo however I can't tell whether luster is intact or if the coin has possibly been dipped or otherwise "processed". I'd love to see some more photos, hopefully ones that better show the true luster characteristics.

Jaobler,

I'm still working on the photography part. If I set it up to capture luster, the details wash-out. When I capture details, I lose the luster. Let me assure you this one is absolutely full of luster and untouched (no dipping/processing).

65 - the pictures show really no marks at all other than a tiny rim ding (graders don't like that sort of thing). If it wasn't for the rim ding, the luster is very strong, and there are no hairlines to speak of, it would be a shot 67.

Hmmm, for no longer then I have been at this I think that I am picking it up pretty quick. as I looked at the pictures I thought, "hmmm, I'd say an easy MS65." Then I scroll down, and everyone agrees with me.

Thank you to all the pics on heritage auction, lol. I have pics of Morgans from almost every single grade I could find on there. Now don't get me wrong, I still to most of you, but I couldn't help but toot my own horn a bit.

By the way, that is a sharp piece of silver there Average Dave.

Thanks Noob. You need to keep in mind that each year and mint of the Morgan series has its strengths and weaknesses ... for example the New Orleans Mint is known for weaker strikes, San Franciso and Carson City for their deep mirrors. A good approach is to just look at graded examples for a particular year and mint when trying to grade your own coin.

Thanks everyone for playing (I'll work on my photography ... thanks for the link Mr Merc). The ANACS grader at the St Louis show graded this a 66/65, net 65 due to the rim nicks. I personally think it's closer to 67/66.

ANACS is brutal these days.

If that ain't a 66, I'll eat it. Some day, I will have a Morgan that nice under my camera.
