I am trying to identify the attached scrip or token saying what I believe is "Consumner Weissthal" which was found while metal detecting near Baltimore, Maryland. I haven't had any luck figuring out what this is or where it might be from. Thanks. Edited by eviltroll99 05/18/2016 10:11 pm

The reverse seems to be smooth, but could have had fine detail once that has been toasted. The coin seems to be copper and is a little larger than a penny (and thinner).

The third to last letter, are you sure it is an 'N'? If it is a 'V', it may well be a German Co-Op token (Sometimes abbreviated Consumver.)

All I found is that Weissthal is a part of Mittwieda, a town in Central Saxony (incorporated in 1923).
Extended versions of the name, "Weissthal b. Mittweida" and "Weissthal b. Ringethal" both refer to the same place (as mentioned above).

Consumver. would be the abbreviation for Consumverein. These were like cooperative shops and widespread in Germany until the mid 20th century. I guess that this token was issued somewhen around 1900-1920.

You all are good - even mis-spelled and in the wrong country, you can make a likely identification. Thank you.

Nice find. Any money-related thing I've found metal detecting (so far) was either clad change and an arcade token.

Where in Maryland? I am a fellow detectorist in Annapolis.

Being found in Maryland this token had quite a journey. It fascinates me to think about how the token possibly could have gotten to the US.

I believe Baltimore had a long history of German immigration
