How do I remove carbon spots from this coin. Its a 1900 no H and worth making it look a little better if I can remove those nasty spots.

They don't look like carbon spots .. it looks like someone sneezed on it and there is start of corrosion. You may be better off by darkening the whole coin. Can you show a pic of the whole coin, both sides?

If the coin is worth a lot then it might be worth having it professionally cleaned other wise leave as is,IMHO.

I believe that is how some carbon spots start. IMO
Nice dated coin. Not sure of the value. You can try acetone but the result may be a disappointment.

The value is roughly $25 CAD in AU, and $200 CAD in MS-64

I believe the OP's coin is the no H version. Would a few hundreds in MS. If you think it will be a MS coin, you should get it professionally cleaned doctorman1941. IMO

This is a very difficult clean job with unpredictable results...

you'd have to completely strip the patina...JAX copper cleaner...which will make the coin a bright orange...

then re-tone with JAX copper darkener or liver or sulphur...but after having cleaned a few thousand vickies...this is the type of cleaning job I hate and save only for the worst of the worst...

Looking at many of my cents..It's looks like I sneeze way too much on them..

Soaking it in Verdi-care won't hurt...I've used it with some success..and then wash it off with a soft mild soap.

If you don't like the result,..then add a very thin coating of Verdi-care as a final application..and let dry..

Better yet discount the heck out of it and just buy another one. No saving that one, looks like it is right in to the metal. Canadian coins are so dead right now you will find someone to sell you a nice one for 1/2 trends or so.
