I'm inclined to think that my grandpa found it in the 40s/ 50s, but I could be way off.
Sorry for limited info.
Thanks

@louisjamesbanks. Welcome to CCF! That is an interesting piece. Is there anything on the other side or is it blank?

Agree w/Horus. The general style would have not been very fashionable by WWII. It is .925 silver as you noted. Is the "A" mark enclosed in any kind of a shape (triangle, oval, etc)?

It is an amulet, or pendant.

The convertible crown mount (2 side holes or center hole for necklace) looks older, but without better hallmark information, hard to date it.

Most of the jewelry from WWII and before, which used Egyptian iconography, tended to be ornate and colorful, in line with the Egyptology craze that lasted from the 1900s-1930s. This piece is rather plain in comparison with only the beaded edge around the face for embellishment.

I don't think it's Egyptian. Looks more Iranian to me. I believe the figure is Ahura Mazada and that medal is some type of Zoroastrian charm.

Yep, I'd definitely say it's depicting Ahura Mazda:

But like some other members mentioned, seeing the other side of the medal could help in identifying it.

Assuming it's nothing particularly special, the value would depend on the weight since it's sterling. It's quite possible that it could carry some premium over melt, though.

I did some searching online for amulets and pendants depicting Ahura Mazda. While there are a lot out there I cant find any that are like yours...not even close.

I saw you said the revers has .925 silver and the letter A on it. Is there any kind of design stamped on revers? Could even be on back of loops on top. It might be kind of small. Most(not all) older silver pieces had some sort of hallmark on it. This can be traced and dated.

Can we please see pics of the reverse as well? Trim pic to just pendant to see larger.

The letter A was used as a Birmingham hallmark for the years 1925 & 1950, 1936 & 56 for London; it depends upon which type font was used.
