New Buffalo Collection Started

I am flirting with the idea of selling these 2 to put towards one of the more expensive buffalos. Maybe help me finish out the '13s

Chris , as long as you go straight dates and mints and no errors or varieties , I'd say that's a good idea to sell those 2 . but it's really up to you. So my suggestion was only my opinion .

My plan is to get all the common dates, then save up and get the more expensive ones a few times a year, then when it's time for the really expensive ones I will either save up for them or re-evaluate my situation haha. It also depends on what else I am working on...currently I'm building a shiny wheat set, and collecting proof sets as well. I may sell off the rest of my other stuff (PCGS proof jefferson and random erroms/varieties) to focus on these.

That is the way I usually do it, but with the Buffalo's I bought the key dates first and then filled in the rest. For the key dates I never went more than EF because they just got too expensive. I think the Mercury dimes, Liberty Walkers, Buff's and the Liberty Standing quarters are sets that will live on in baby boomers minds for years to come. They may be a good investment as well as fun to collect. I have a set of all of them minus the 1916 LSQ. The Peace dollars are also a set that is 20th century and not hard to collect. 18th and 19th century coins get harder and gold is much harder to collect full sets in any date.
