I saw this for sale on an app where people sell stuff. I bought coins on it before and it turned out well. And I came across this ad someone had where they are selling all of these coins for $19. I'm wondering if it is worth it for the Shield nickels?

if this is going to make you happy I say that you cannot go wrong spending a dollar a coin for those specific coins and getting the chance to inspect, discover, be inspired etc...

or you head to the bay and see what a single $20 nickel-buy gets you and decide if you want to have that instead

either way, you're collecting and aspiring to Numismatic greatness

A few cents more than $1 each.
Worth it.
And, yes, I believe the Shield nickels are authentic.

I personally would pass, doesn't look like they have dates. I've found that unless they are good dates, it's just not worth buying coins in such low condition.

The only reason I personally would buy this lot is if I didn't have any of these types, or if I just wanted to stock up on common-date old coins. Just because.

But where else could you buy such interesting historical stuff for $19? Each of these coins has a story you could tell to your friends. (And oh yes, they most definitely are real--not fakes.)

For me .. I would pass.

The Buffalo and Liberty head nickels can be bought for $1.00
or less.

The no date nickels have very little value over face.

The only coins that are worth anything to speak of are the 1896 V-Nickel and the War Nickels which are 35% silver . But it's your call .

It's a "junk silver" lot, with some Buffalo's thown in.
I think a bit high, but not too bad.

Ask if the Shield nickels have dates. If yes, Id go for it. If no it is questionable.

Not much to loose. I'd say why not.
