At this stage its worth the submission just to prove the overwhelming majority telling me it's counterfeit that indeed it's not.

You asked for opinions, please don;t take offense that people looking at your pictures have given honest opinions.
We all hope they are legit. It may just be the pics make them look fake. "Fake" was my thought on all three as soon as I saw the pics also.
Its good you also have faith in your friend... but its been proven the "experts" at TPGs have been shown to have been fooled. Please do let us know. I guarantee people will be glad for you here if the results are positive.

Understood. I would be absolutely shocked if any one of the three came back as anything other than genuine. The $3 is highly polished and I believe it was a jewelry removal. The Buffalo and $5 Indian look right as rain. The place I buy from has been at it for over 40 years. Either way, the speculation can come to an end by the end of the week.

It's no win for anybody if they are counterfeit. As mentioned before the pics are low resolution. The only thing I was basing my opinion on was 1) the shine the coin had. 2) PCGS counterfeit and grading book says that $3 gold transfer dies have defects in the field in front of the chin, and below the hair curl at 5 o'clock. So these areas are tooled to correct this. BTW it took me 30 days to get my economy grades back from PCGS

BREAKING NEWS... Coin shop was open today of all days. So I drove up added $300, traded in the questionable $3.00 for this one which is the most common date, however appears problem free. Still shooting it off to be graded however, but it does appear much different then the first one.

iPhone however I will post of they are back from grading. This one looks much better in person, with no tooling, no dings, no damage to the front of the coin as the previous. As well, It's definitely not polished.
