I just got this one in the mail today, what do you think it grades at? Gonna send it off to ICCS when I get enough coins gathered up...to replace my VG-8.

Ouch! That's a bit harsh
Before I saw the holder I was going to say EF-40

I guess the graders were on the edge between 30/40 and they went with the lower

I guess you needed it in hand to be able to tell, it still looks better than 30

I would have given this coin better than a VF-30 as well. Obverse details are sharp and the coin has a lovely tone. Perhaps the bits of rim damage detracted from the grading, but who knows. Sometimes I see a grading and have to shake my head. I once saw a Canadian coin in a sealed ICCS graded folder and it was labeled and graded as a Newfoundland coin!?!

Maybe ICCS should include a VF35 grade like they do in the States.
That would help to eliminate the large gap between a VF30 and a EF40.
This coin would then have a good chance at making a VF35.

I'd say EF40 but I wouldn't send it back because of the rim damage. I'm assuming the VF30 is a net grade.
