I was finally able to take some pictures of my toned 1883O that actually shows the color some what. The camera shows it flat but there is luster behind the color. Obverse goes from a beautiful Deep Emerald Green and rainbows to reddish/pink in center covering cameo. Not orange as picture shows. Reverse is deep red to purple depending on how you hold it. with some emerald green mixed in.   I've seen pictures of coins with what's called "Monster" Toning, and they seem to sell for a premium. I am wondering if this coin qualifies as a "Monster" What do you think. Any and all opinions welcome. Thanks again...Mont Edited by MontCollector

Beautiful toning on that Morgan! Not sure I'd call it "monster" toning, although I don't know that there's a definition of that. Regardless, it definitely should add value to the coin IMHO.

It looks like album toning to me. Some collectors are willing to pay a premium for this type of toning but not the kind of premium true monster toned Morgans bring. I'll bet she's a real looker in hand.
