i myself think these are amazing coins from that time

The 1873 5 Frank has 2 variants

one with LONG protege (33 mm and upside down star) and one with short protege (29mm and plain star)

Agreed, I found myself staring at the reverse for a good 20 minutes. Now I just need my Prussian 5 mark to arrive .
