No, especially if they are with their original government packaging

If you think they will be graded 70 then yes, otherwise no. It is actually possible that grading can decrease the value since a potential buyer won't have the added hope of being a 70.
If you do not know how to grade, I would suggest bringing them to a dealer that you trust, or to a show where PCGS/NGC reps are set up.

I agree. Since these weren't meant for circulation they all are in very high MS condition. The value IMO is in the box and paperwork.

This is my 500th post!!!

Thanks for the info,

I purchased the coins direct from the mint and they went into my safe so they are in the packaging like the day I received them

The gold looks like a value of 1250 just as is and gold content but the 1993 and 1994 silver in my research if graded ms 70 would value the coin for 50.00 to 1200 to 1600.

I have a 2 complete sets of American eagle silver proof coins from 1990 to 2005 except the 1998. Looking to sale them and have received quotes of 2500.00 for the silver and 1 gold coin. Is this a fair price ?

Advice about weather to grade a coin is easy...appraising your collection is another matter.

If you are happy with offer take it. If you are wanting an appraisal try searching for same coins on ebay and see what they sold for.

BTW... to CCF

The proofs are worth around $50 each and ypu have 28 of them. That's $1400. The 1oz gold is worth about $1300 so that's a $2700 full retail value. Now, if ypu were to put them on ebay you'd pay $13% of that on fees so a cash offer of $2500 is a good deal. I'd take it personally.

The early proofs like 92-94 I believe are worth a touch more at around $80ea but still. $2500 seems like a good clean and quick deal

Edit to add... If you do have the 95w proof (or 2!) those are worth a few thousand raw all by themselves

1990 through 2005, minus the 1998 ..

I think that is 15 proof ASE .. even with the better price
for a couple of the ASE's ..

$2500 sounds like a good deal, for the seller.
