So, I did say last night I would leave out this from my CRH pennies tip topic, and I did! I am saving up my bucks for some neat proof sets! This plan will not go into affect until after my birthday, cause I usually get some money for it!

First up is the 2016 Silver Proof Set. I've seen the ebay listings and seen the price the US Mint is wanting, and save to say I'm gonna order that one directly from the Mint instead of from someone on ebay, cause it's just over what they're asking. I was gonna order it directly from the Mint anyways, so yeah.

Now once that's done, this is where I'm stumbled. It all depends on how much money is left. You see why I'm saving up?

A big thing I wanna do is to get a lot which has all of the 50 State Quarter clad proof sets, to overthrow some friends who have all the quarters found in circulation!

There are a couple of listings on ebay for such things, and yes these are lots. One is for $60 free shipping, which has all of the clad proof sets from 1999-2008 with the boxes and COA's. That's all nice and done! There is also a listing for $90 free shipping which has the hard to find archive box, which stores the proof sets in there! There are also the boxes and COA's as well. But there are also 5 extra proof sets!

There is the 2007 Presidential $1 Coin Proof Set, 2009 D.C & Territory Quarter Clad Proof Set, two 2011 ATB Clad Proof Sets, and a 2012 ATB Clad Proof Set! Now I would probably give one of those 2011 ATB proof sets to my cousin who has a Wheat penny and stuff. If I were to ever get a full 2007 proof set, silver or clad, I would also give that extra 2007 $1 coin proof set to her as well!

So what do you think of this plan? The two lots are my options depending on how much money I have left after the 2016 Silver Proof Set! Oh and if anyone has that particular proof set (2016 silver), can you send me some pictures of them? I'm tired of looking at stock photos of them and I would want to see what they look like in front of us!

Some awesome endeavors there !

Are you gonna bust the coins out of the sets and put them into albums eventually?
I did that with all Uncirculated Sets, Proof Sets, and Silver Proof Sets.
This gives you a NICE Dansco album collection !
You'll then have a Lincoln collection started.
A Jefferson nickel collection started.
Roosevelt dime collection started.
Washington qtrs... (state & ATB, as well)
Kennedy halfs.
Presidential dollars.
Sacagawea dollars.

It gets you on your way...
And once you get most of the ultra modern coins, you see all the remaining holes to fill. Which then gets you to coin shops, coin auctions, ebay, coin shows, yard sales, etc., etc..
At this point, you're hooked and a hopelessly obsessed "coin collector", like the rest of us...
Budget is an issue, I understand, but curious as to your "short term, mid-term, & long term plans".
