Almost done with my box and found this.
I'm keeping it in case it's an upgrade for a Lincoln folder or album, but, thought I'd make sure on possible variety.
High 7 and low 7.
I'm saying ...Low 7 Large Date. Am I correct ?
The other coin is just for comparison on condition....it was "glowing" at me in the pile ! --

I've been staring at SDs all evening. That's an LD, but it is a beauty!! Worth keeping either way I think.

Yeah, I never find the desirable varieties. ..
Small date, low 7, is what the valuable one is, I believe.
And I just keep lookin....sigh.

So...this one's common, as I thought, and even in nicer grades I'm sure.
But I'm still keeping this one, regardless of it being heavily common ....prolly throw it in a coin tube with other nice grade LMC's...

My daughter is 11 years old, maybe when she's 86 years old it won't be so common, in that condition, anyway...

I agree both are the common large dates. One business strike, one proof strike.

The small dates are the premium coins.

The Small Dates are very hard to find. One diagnostic is the word Liberty is usually very weak on them. Out of the 400 or so 1970-S Lincolns I've found in circulation, I've only run across 1 of this variety.
CRH Nickeloholic. 1,600,000 nickels searched in eight years! Have found FOUR complete Jefferson sets!
