watched the coin guy on HSN last night, boy is he good, I almost bought a set, silver dollars,1986 and 2016 silver eagle set, both in one plastic holder, the '86 was graded 69 I think and the '16 was 69.
priced at $199.00

Yeah... just remember, somebody has to pay for the airtime, tv studio time, nice clothes and hairspray.

With a little work you can buy those from somebody with lower overhead...

About a month ago, I watched the T.V. Coin show with Don Davis. He had nice Morgan dollar DMPLs ( Deep Mirror Proof Like), for $69.95 each. Wishing I had bought one . Not a bad deal at all for television.

Does not look like a good deal.

I think you could buy the coins raw, send them in, and have
this set for low $100 ... Or less.

If you just wanted a 1986 and 2016 , in seperate slabs, in MS 69
much less than $100.

And in my experience having these odd shaped holders (slab)
can be a problem with storing them.

It's never a best option for your dollar, to purchase ANYTHING from Mike Mezack at HSN.
Your local coin shop would be much better.

The 2016 is the 31st issue year of the ASE, not the 30th. But in marketing 101 no one really cares when they have their numbers right or not. As long as they sell is all that matters.

I would say he is the most reasonable out of any of them... Some stuff he sells is pretty much in line with what you can find on ebay and your LCS...

Mike Mezack on the other hand... Not so much!

Correct, 31 issue year, but it IS the 30th anniversary so the label is correct.

The second year of issue would celebrate the first anniversary. This is just like you would not celebrate your first birthday the year you were born, or your first wedding anniversary the year you were married.
