Numisma Pillar of the Community United States 4963 Posts	Posted 06/11/2016 04:22 am I got this coin in a roll and thought it may be a strike-through on the reverse since the obverse shows no evidence of damage. What do you think, and if you agree, what material may have caused it? Report this Post to the Staff

coop Bedrock of the Community United States 62064 Posts	Posted 06/12/2016 12:59 pm Snake? Looks like it is raised on the coin, so it must have been part of something that was blocking the strike. It continues to the top of the building. Part of the "C" on CENTS is also showing distortion. Something that filled the inner part of the die on the building, yet strong enough to alter the fields. The part circled in blue is barely visible in hand, the part in red appears to be displaced metal from a ding or scratch that was worn down, and the part in green is part of the sloped roof of the building.
