Sorry; I couldn't resist that subject line as I was posting this trifollaro of the Italian City State of Sicily. It was minted between 1166 and 1187 AD in Messina and the attribution is Biaggi 1231. Obv design is a 3/4 lion head and the rev design is a palm tree with...count 'em...10 dates.

Interesting coin, haven't seen one of these before though the Lion head is similar in style to the Cilician Armenian Levon I Lion.

It is, kind of. Also sort of similar to the Pittsburghian Fred Rogers' lion.
