Here is a recent 1949 Hoof pickup in need of a grade.

..lots of fine lines..but I'm guessing still an EF.

What say the graders here..?

Looks like a solid VF-30
In my opinion still too little detail to reach a 40

You guys are very tough ....

I don't think that there is a doubling in the HP..but I will check again..

Doesn't that HP doubling only apply to the dollars..?

I agree with VF30.
Also there are Double HP's in the 50c pieces.
In fact the 1952 50c has two different versions of DHP.

Would it do you any service if I said I don't consider this to be a hoof-through and that to me it looks more like a Cud near the 9 and hoof versus a die crack...?>>?

You might have something there...but the fine d/c from the 9 to the 4 is also there..and the 9/9/9 and the 4/4 is also there....?....

Would a Cud example be "now" much more valuable..?..
