I'll start it off with this Croatia 25 Dinars. 110 x 62 mm in size.

Post-Your-Notes-Depicting-Scientists!

The scientist is Roger Boscovich, about whom a rather detailed account may be read at:

Here's a 1992 Slovenian 50 Tolarjev depicting Jurij Vega, an 18th century mathematician and physicist. The note is 132 × 66 mm.

I still have one of these in a box somewhere. I don't really collect bank notes (keep them more or less when not able to spend and not worth enough to change for anything else or having plans to revisit a country), but I remember having one of the original Mad Scientist.

Come to think of it, the same box also contains one of these, a 1000 old Zloty note with Nikolaus Copernicus on it. I'll try to find that box again and then I'll make some pics of my actual notes.

And then I looked in my wallet and found this guy:

There seem to be many notes with scientists around, actually.

The Norwegian scientist just above being Kristian Birkeland, who was the first to formulate a viable theory explaining the Aurora Borealis. More about him and his accomplishments can be found at:

Sorry, no scan, but the US $100 bill with Benjamin Franklin certainly qualifies.

Here's one I don't have yet but which I'll need to add to my collection at some point, an Israel 5 Lirot - the scientist in this case being iconic.

Post-Your-Notes-Depicting-Scientists!

It's not well known that the office of President of Israel was once actually offered to Einstein (he declined).

That's a great note. Even the watermark bears his schnozz.

Here's another common modern note with this theme that I've got to get my hands on - Great Britain £1.
