For the expert eyes ... is this the "first reverse"?

Has to be - 8TF Morgans are all First Reverse. Literally, since they were the first Morgans minted.

But, yes, that's the First reverse. The fact that all of the arrow fletches are parallel is the key, in this image.

Oh, wait. You mean is it VAM-9? See what I get for typing before I interpret what I was reading?

Tough to say from the quality of the pics, but it sure looks like it.

I am not sure, but I don't think it is a VAM 9. I spotted a coin just like that when I first began looking for VAM's several months ago. If I am seeing things right, the "comma " feather should be 1 of 2 small feathers in that area. On mine, and yours, there appears to be three feathers there (on the right side). There should be 3 small feathers on the left side - there appears to be 2 on yours (like mine). I was kinda dissapointed when got it home and looked, loved the coin, but not the "first" Morgan :( Still looking ! Check VAMworld for the small die scratches diagnostic to be sure.

InfiniteInterest is correct, not a VAM-9.

Thanks everyone. That's kind of what I thought, but was still consumed with "wishful thinking".

Here's an attributed (ANACS) VAM-9 for reference:

The eagle's right is doubtful, but the left (the important side) looks pretty close.
