I have a Washington quarter with a large Cud over the date, also on the reverse the E S OF are missing. Is this coin of any value, is so how much should I sell it for.
Thanks
Anthony

to CCF.

Cuds are a really nice find. They have a website for listings of them, so you should check it out.

Yes the coin is of some value. The reason the lettering in missing on the reverse is because the metal was filling in the Cud on the obverse and there was insufficient pressure to force metal into the lettering on the rev.

Check sold ebay listings for a value. It will fairly well due to the size of the Cud. I would not however plan on retiring on the proceeds. Maybe go out to a nice restaurant.

That's a huge Cud. The coin is in bad shape though so that will drag the price down somewhat. Still... it's got some decent premium value.

The problem with error coins is that the prices are all over the place -- the same type of error will can have a big price range and that can change from month to month. It all depends upon who wants it when you're selling it.

They aren't quite twins, the shape of the Cuds are slightly different. This is a common place for a large Cud to form. There are several different years that have a very similar Cud.
