Hair detail is awesome and the whole obverse looks outstanding. I'm not an early copper guy but the reverse may have porosity/verdigris.

As BH said I'm no expert on this series...I'm guessing it's a high xf/AU coin with possible verdigris on the reverse....still a nice looking coin.

I'm at AU details, environmental damage due the reverse, but holy ! I love it!

The piece has wonderful detail, but it has been "restored" with the removal of some verdigris on both sides. The work of done with commensurate skill, but the grade would still be AU details with some gradual surfaces.
I believe that this is a Sheldon 110. The 1796 obverse die is paired with a die that was used to make the rare 1795 reeded edge cent variety. Sheldon rated it is an R-2.

Indeed the restoration is remarkable.

Cleaned and recolored. Burnished and the hair detail is tooled. Still a nice coin.

i agree with AU50 details and the possibility of a re-color, however, it has great details.

Some nice looking old copper. Agree with AU-50 - a few issues yes but good luck finding anything nicer than this example

Always nice to see an 1796 Draped Bust Cent in higher grade. Admittedly not without its flaws, but appealing nonetheless. 1796 DBC's are generally scarce, and S-110 (at R-3 per CQR) is as close as you will get to a 'common' coin when it comes to 1796's.

Ahaa !So I see some comments needed clarifcation sas my picture was taken in the sun --hey picture looked a bit too over done and in fun couse it looked cool kinda. Ok so I re-took the pictures --this is more realistic the way it looks in person. Porrus it is and on the reverse more so --But for the price under 5 go find another as nice with the Au details. I wanted a great example of a 96 rev 94 I think I got a wonderful coin for the price. Love all the comment from you all----enjoy

I think she is a lovely coin for under $5k. Unfortunately, I'm not sure my wallet will ever let me afford such a piece.

Five thousand dollars or something close to it is a high price for that coin. NGC and PCGS would not give it a straight grade, and that eliminates a lot of the market.
