It is home made. The set with the silver medallion was issued in a boxed set. The gold coloured item is not gold nor is it a coin. It is a medallion of some sort not issued by the mint.

It's definitely homemade. The actual set contains 6 coins.

wow that set has a confederation coin in it. those were issued at schools to the students. I am surprised to see one in a set. they issued the confederation coin. plus another coin if on that day you competed in sports event. there was also a red maple pin. that was given out as well. I wish I could see a better image of the other coin. I think that was the sports coin that was given. if you could one of those little red maple pins you would have. all the items given to the student that year. my brothers. my sisters and mind was in my dads collection nice find. if you dont mind try to get a little better image of the gold or bronze coin. then I could tell you for sure if this belong to someone who competed. wow brings back old memories. there was 3 metals issued that day gold , silver and bronze.

The confederation coin issued to school children was made of brass. The silver one (which is what is here)was issued in a special red leather covered case and also included the six regular issue coins. There were 72,000 of these issued. The 6 coins alone were also issued as a regular proof-like set. There were 964,000 of the regular proof-like set. The medallion here is sterling silver. All this according to the Charlton catalogue.

Unfortunately, that's the biggest photo he had. Set sold for $42 I believe.
