Bought this "brownie" last week, pretty cheaply. Not up on Ike varieties much, but is this what's referred to as the "peg leg" on the R in Liberty?

I think the peg leg is the norm for the 72 silver proofs.
Check your ike for a DDO though. I found one on mine that had slipped through several hands before it was noticed. I think mine is actually a Top Pop coin (PR-68 DCAM, tied for finest known)

Thanks for the reply. Interestingly enough, the motto is thicker than others I have on hand. Just can't tell if there are any splits anywhere in the serif with my weak loupe. Will attempt to post a pic in a few.

Childofthewheat, this is the best image I can currently grab of the motto. if they're sharp enough, please share your thoughts. Looking at it full size, it probably doesn't reveal much.

Here is a little information on the Peg Legs and what causes them. They are not a die variety, but an die alteration.
