Hi ,

I' ve recently bought a 20 lire Vittore Emanuele 3 1928 coin from a flea market and I don't know if this coin is real or just a fake.

The weight is 20.13 g ,the diammeter 35 mm ,the edge is redeed .
I suspect that it is fake because the weight is not 20 as it should be but 20.13 and because the letters from the right of the obverse are not clear.(I cannot see the letters .A.MOTTI.INC ,just some points)

I've uploaded some pictures below.
Can some help me please to know if this is a real coin or a fake and if yes what is the value?

Thanks a lot!
Alex

For your sake, hope it's da real-deal. Not your avg. swap meet piece.
Looks good to me, the reeding on these are generally lite.
Truly, a great find!

Hi fioti ,

Thanks for your answer.

Which grade do you think can be assigned to this coin?
Do you think is worthying to pay for official grading service?

Thanks,
Alex

This is counterfeit. The relief is too low, even though it's a lower set relief coin.

Problems with the ear detail, hair detail, as well as nose where it joins the moustache area. Also on the reverse the bundle with Roman numerals on it is wrong. I am sorry.

This is a highly counterfeited coin for many years. Best of luck.

Ditto... and yes, this is one. It's one of those pieces that I don't think was really intended as pass as fake money/silver... but more as a memento token. There's also the related fantasy piece that swaps out that coin geek Vitt. Em. III for Il Duce.

Looks like the fakes to me. Low relief. Lots of the fakes I see show a silver wash over bronze that is wearing off.
